Waikato District libraries host a free seed library for our customers. Seed saving and sharing allows people to try gardening at a lower cost, practice sustainable and self sufficient living, encourage greater biodiversity in their community and provide a habitat and food for animals and insects.
How it works:
- Pick up a packet or two of free garden seeds at your library – we offer a variety of vegetable, fruit, flower, native and herb seeds
- Plant and grow your seeds at home
- Enjoy your harvest!
- Save some seeds from your plants to donate back to the library for your community.
We gratefully accept donations of any spare plant seeds (that are not illegal, noxious or invasive!). These seeds are packaged plastic-free and shared out to the community.
