Waikato District Libraries have a number of collections available to the public.
We have a number of electronic databases available
Interested in e-books, e-audio books and e-magazines?
Our libraries have a great collection of DVDs that include plenty of TV series to binge on, cartoons, funny movies, informative documentaries, classic films and recently released blockbusters. You can find something for everyone!
We have a range of kits for you to borrow so that you can try something new, without having to buy the material or gear yourself. There’s something for everyone – from musical instruments to science and DIY.
Upstairs in the Huntly library there is a room full of history and information on our district.
We offer large Maaori research and reference collections including Te Reo picture books in all of our libraries.
Some books that are very precious, rare and/or contain important information for the public. These types of books are usually added to our reference collection where the intention is to always have these books readily available for all to read rather than be checked out.
Restricted access items are books that are kept safe behind the counter as they are either extremely popular or rare and, may be damaged (tattoos or Bob Marley), or, of a sensitive nature and may contain information or images that some may find offensive (sex or gangs).
