At the Waikato District Libraries there are some books that are very precious, rare and/or contain important information for the public. These types of books are usually added to our reference collection where the intention is to always have these books readily available for all to read rather than be checked out.
A reference item will have a red R on the spine. These items cannot be borrowed. This policy ensures fairness to all that may wish to view the reference item.
