Our dog pound will be closed Friday 20 December 2024 and re-open Monday 6 January 2025.

Our Animal Control Officers will be on call over this period for any urgent dog or stock issues, such as dog aggression, stock on roads, etc.

To report any urgent issues, please phone 0800 492 452. Request logged through other avenues will not be processed until Monday 6 January 2025.

Dog registration and microchipping

To help keep dogs safe and enable us to reunite lost dogs with owners, all dogs are required by law to be microchipped and registered. Here you can apply to register and microchip your dog, as well as let us know when you details have changed.
Dog de-sexing

Dogs should be de-sexed if they are not intended for breeding. Dogs that are de-sexed are often more sociable, are healthier and live longer. Learn more about desexing and if you are eligible for subsidised desexing.
