Fun, sun and happy pooches

There was lots of fun, sun and happy pooches at the Dirty Dog Challenge today, with 489 dogs and 600 runners taking part.

The Dirty Dog Challenge is a 2.5km or 6km adventure course that you do with your dog by your side. The event is organised by Waikato District Council and Hamilton City Council, and all proceeds go towards desexing animals in our communities.

Launched in 2018, the Dirty Dog Challenge continues to grow in popularity, with this year’s event selling out.

The event received a Merit Award in the Outstanding Event category at the 2022 Recreation Aotearoa awards, which recognise excellence and innovation in the recreation sector.

Thanks to everyone who came along, and to our amazing volunteers and sponsors.

Keep an eye out for all the photos on the Waikato Pound Pups Facebook page over the next few weeks.

We look forward to seeing you all next year!
