Waikato District Council is seeking feedback on a proposed Keeping of Animals Bylaw, Gambling Venues Policy and Road Closures Policy. Tell us what you think about our proposals.
Keeping of Animals Bylaw
This Bylaw includes rules to reduce or prevent animal nuisance and specifies where certain animals can be kept, such as bees, pigs, chickens, and roosters.
Submissions on the proposed Bylaw will be heard in October 2024.
Gambling Venues Policy
This policy sets out the rules and restrictions Council has in place for venues wanting to operate electronic gaming machines (pokies) in our district. It also sets out the rules and restrictions for licensing of standalone TAB venues in our district.
Submissions on the proposed policy will be heard in August 2024.
Road Closures Policy
This policy outlines Council’s stance on the use of roads owned and/or managed by Council for motor sport events (car rallies) and sets out the conditions and considerations Council has for any applications that are submitted.
