PUBLIC NOTICE OF NOTICE OF REQUIREMENT

Section 95A, 168 of the Resource Management Act 1991

Waikato District Council has received the following:

Notice of Requirement for a designation for Mill Road and Pukekohe East Road Upgrade (NoR 8) for upgrade works and shared paths. NoR 8, designates land within both Waikato and Auckland along Mill Road,

Applicant:    Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency as the Requiring Authority, for public work.

Proposal:   The proposed work is for the construction, operation, maintenance and improvement of a state highway and cycleway and / or shared path, and associated infrastructure on Mill Road, Bombay and Pukekohe East Road,  Pukekohe. The proposed work includes:

  • A state highway including a shared path;
  • Associated works including intersections, bridges, embankments, retaining walls, culverts, stormwater  management systems;
  • Changes to local roads, where the proposed work intersects with local roads; and
  • Construction activities including construction areas and the re-grading of driveways.

Location:       The requirement applies to an area of land of approximately 11.7 hectares located between Pukekohe East Road, Pukekohe and the Bombay Interchange on Mill Road, Bombay. The requirement applies to 52 land parcels (excluding existing roads)

As NoR 8 designates land within both Waikato and Auckland, a Notice of Requirement has also been lodged with the Auckland Council and can be viewed here https://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/nor

Making a submission on the notice of requirement

Any person or organisation may make a submission on the notice of requirement, but a person who is a trade competitor of the requiring authority may do so only if that person is directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the requirement relates that –

(a)     Adversely affects the environment; and
(b)     Does not relate to trade competition or the effects of trade competition.

You may make a submission on that part within Waikato District Council by sending a written or electronic form to Waikato District Council at:

  • Waikato District Council, Private Bag 544, Ngaruawahia 3742 or
  • By using the online system on the Waikato District Councils website https://www.waikatodistrict.govt.nz/NoR8 or
  • Lodging your submission in person at Waikato District Council Libraries or offices

Submissions close at midnight on Monday, 13 November 2023

You must serve a copy of your submission on Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, whose address for service is  submissions@supportinggrowth.nz or Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Level 5, 203  Queens Street, Auckland 1010, as soon as reasonably practicable after serving your submission on Waikato District Council.
