Networking event aims to enhance Waikato District businesses

Providing businesses with the chance to connect, learn and explore opportunities for growth and collaboration, Waikato District Council is displaying its commitment to the support and growth of district businesses with an upcoming business networking event.

Hosted in the light commercial area next to Pōkeno Whisky on Thursday 8 June, the event is designed as a platform for Waikato District business operators to connect with each other, providing attendees a chance to explore opportunities to work together and take advantage of the growing economy in the Waikato district.

Open to business owners, employees, aspiring leaders, and anyone in between, the evening will kick off at 4.30pm with a tour of the Pōkeno Whisky distillery.

Waikato District Mayor Jacqui Church is set to present an opening speech, followed by an evening of networking and key Waikato District updates, before finishing with a second distillery tour at 6pm.

“Attendees will get to hear from Council experts and other local businesses about the growth corridor and what it means for businesses in the district,” says Kelvin Forsman, Economic Development Advisor at Waikato District Council.

“Throughout the evening we will engage in discussions about economic opportunities, how to navigate the ever-changing business environment, and hear about individual experiences that we may be able to learn, grow, and develop from.”

Forsman describes the event as a valuable networking opportunity where attendees can connect with like-minded individuals, get to know businesses within their local area and walk away with ideas and opportunities for growth.

“Hosting the event with the support of such a unique and proud local business as Pōkeno Whisky will also give attendees the opportunity to see firsthand how different businesses throughout the district operate and navigate growth and international export” he says.
