UPDATED: 4:30pm 11 July 2022

Huntly, Ngāruawāhia, Taupiri and Horotiu

Huntly, Ngāruawāhia, Taupiri and Horotiu residents are being asked to continue to conserve water until further notice.

This is due to excessive rainfall and high river levels causing poor water quality which is impacting our production at our treatment plants.

Raglan

We are implementing a precautionary recommendation of no swimming or shellfish collecting until 6pm, Tuesday (12 July).

Due to the excessive rainfall over the past 24 hours and stormwater infiltration into our wastewater ponds, a controlled release of fully treated wastewater has taken place during last nights incoming tide.

By conducting this controlled release, we have minimised the risk of an overflow of untreated wastewater.

There is a very low risk of contamination, but we appreciate the cooperation of all residents and visitors during this time.

An update will be provided before tomorrow at 6pm, so please keep an eye on our Facebook page and website.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation and patience while we resolve these issues. If you have further questions, please contact our Call Centre on 0800 492 452.
