I hope you had a restful and safe Easter break. It was a wild weather weekend for many, and I want to acknowledge the resilience and care shown across our communities during times like these.
This is a short week but action-packed for Council business. We invite you to have your say on the future of our district. Our Long Term Plan (LTP) consultation is open, and it’s your opportunity to share what matters most to you—whether it’s roads, waters, community halls or the services that keep our towns ticking. You’ll find details about our events in this newsletter and on our website. We’re coming to your halls, marae, libraries and markets, ready to listen. Or, as always, just click, call or say kia ora.
And as ANZAC Day approaches, we hope to see many of you at one of the commemorative services being held around our district. These moments of remembrance are powerful reminders of the courage and sacrifice made for the freedoms we enjoy today. We honour that legacy by showing up for one another—by volunteering, supporting local causes, and standing up for what’s right.
Together, let’s continue to build a district we’re proud to call home.
Ngaa mihi and kind regards
Mayor Jacqui Church
