Waikato District Council calls for ratepayers to go digital

Saving time, money and the environment is top of mind for Waikato District Council as it encourages more ratepayers to sign up to receive their rates invoices via email.

With thousands of dollars spent on printing and posting rates notices each year, the Council is looking for more efficient ways to communicate with its ratepayers.

“Postage costs are rising, which means we spend thousands of dollars a year sending out rate notices,” says Neil Tunnell, Finance Manager at Waikato District Council.

“One of the easiest and most effective solutions to combat this problem is for our ratepayers to receive their rates invoices via email.”

By making the shift to email delivery, ratepayers will receive their invoices directly to their inbox, ensuring quick access and creating a digital record of each instalment.

“This small change can have a big impact as it significantly reduces Council mailing costs and ensures our resources are used as efficiently as possible.”

Making the process as easy as possible, the Council invites ratepayers to take a step towards a more sustainable and efficient future.

“Sign up today to receive your rates by email and enjoy the benefits of speed, sustainability, and savings.”
