Tracy Jones has officially joined the Huntly Community Board, signing her declaration at last week’s meeting.
The board member position became vacant when the board’s deputy chair resigned because he was moving out of the Huntly area. A by-election was held, with the results announced in December.
Tracy says she is looking forward to being involved in the decision-making process and advocating for the community. She is looking forward to giving back to the community.
This was the board’s first meeting for 2025. At the meeting, the board voted to elect Eden Wawatai as the new deputy chair. Eden has been on the community board for two terms.
The role of the board is to represent the community’s views to Council.
The next Huntly Community Board meeting will be held on Tuesday 8 April.
