Thanks to a new state-of-the-art lighting system, the Pookeno Tennis and Recreation Hub is now able to be in full swing.
The community facility now has competition grade glare-free lighting, from Musco Lighting Australia, that will last the community for the next decade and beyond.
Our Project Manager, Asanka Meththa says the lights and poles were specifically designed for The Hub as it was important to council to future proof the facility for the growth of the community.
Alongside Musco Lighting Australia, Saint Electrical, Pookeno Tennis and Recreation Hub, and the community, it took us three months to get these lights up and shining bright.
"It's great to see the modelling, calculations, planning and prep work come to fruition," says Asanka.
To celebrate this milestone, Waikato District Council hosted a completion event last week at the Pookeno Tennis and Recreation Hub with local residents and mana whenua.
"Our community members, along with support from Waikato District Council, have helped us achieve our shared goal of making this space an inviting community hub," says Pookeno Tennis and Recreation Hub Chairperson, Bronwyn Heath.
"So what are you waiting for? Grab your friends and family and head down to The Hub for some fun on the courts. Whether it's basketball, netball, tennis, volleyball, pickleball, or futsal - we've got something for everyone. Can't wait to see you there!" says Bronwyn.
The Pookeno Tennis and Recreation Hub is at 1 Avon Road, Pookeno, and open seven days a week.
