Meremere put on a show for Children's Day

Meremere community centre pulled out all the stops last weekend, hosting a wonderful Children's Day for their community with face painting, bouncy castles, horse riding and more.

Some of our staff were there too, including our Library team, with their LEGO kit.

Waikato Pound Pups had a blast coloring in with the kids and giving away free bags of dog food - Even Dotti, our Education Dog, popped along to say 'Hello'.

Road Safety Coordinator Megan Jolly was there with Car Seat Technician Victoria Kemp, they talked about correct installation and had a competition where the lucky winner won a car seat!

Councillor Marlene Raumati praised the event and staff, stating this is what she loves about our communities and thanked those who put in the mahi to bring such an incredible day to life.

"Our community engagement staff are the conduit between council and our communities. They're a dedicated, community-facing team who strive to ensure our communities know they are valued".
