4:15PM UPDATE - Test results have given Raglan’s water supply the all clear so Waikato District Council can now turn the treatment plant back on and start to refill the reservoirs.
Even with the water treatment plant back up and running, residents will still need to continue to conserve water while the reservoirs are refilling. This could take up to 24 hours.
If residents do not conserve water this will delay the refilling process.
Residents will also need to continue to boil the water for a minute before drinking while further tests are carried out to ensure water quality and safety.
If a large aftershock dirties the water again, Waikato District Council will have to turn the treatment plant off but this should be for no longer than 24 hours unless severe.
Waikato District Council thanks residents efforts so far to conserve water and would appreciate their continued patience.
The town’s water supply was affected after the 7.8 earthquake on Monday morning and continuing aftershocks.
After the earthquakes the spring which supplies Raglan’s water turned dirty and the water treatment plant had to be closed down. Tests were ordered for e Coli and heavy metals.
Council has been pumping water into the Raglan reservoirs through the day and night since Monday to keep up with drinking water demand.
9AM UPDATE - Raglan reservoir levels are now at their lowest since Monday so it is critical that residents continue to conserve water today.

Waikato District Council thanks residents efforts so far to conserve water and would appreciate their continued patience as the Council awaits the results of tests to allow us to revert to our normal water supply and get the water treatment plant back up and running.
Council has been pumping water into the Raglan reservoirs through the day and night since Monday to keep up with drinking water demand. This will continue until the water treatment plant can be turned back on when water tests come back and show the all clear.
Residents are being asked to limit their water use and boil water for one minute before drinking.
Raglan residents located on high ground may also be experiencing a drop in water pressure.
A tanker will be located at the Raglan Fire Station until 10pm tonight and again in the morning from 6am for those who require fresh drinking water. Please take bottles and containers to fill with water.
