New-look Huntly Library and Council office is coming soon

Huntly library

A refurbishment of Huntly’s library and Council office will be taking place over the coming weeks.

To enable these renovations to occur, the library and Council office has closed this week and will be reopening in the Huntly Civic Centre complex on Monday, 29 August.

Once open again, the temporary library will be housed in the centre itself, with Council services available out of the former North Waikato News office.

While in their temporary home, the library and service centre will be operating as a cash-free environment meaning that only eftpos and cheques transactions will be accepted.

The only other noticeable changes during this period will be a reduced number of books and the library’s computers will not be available. There will, however, be free WiFi available for those with personal devices. The library’s SKOOB programme and toddler time sessions will not be running.

“While we work through this refurbishment, we want there to be a seamless transition but we need our customers and the Huntly community to support us in achieving this. We ask you to be patient and mindful of the end goal – a new-look library that we can all be proud of,” Customer Delivery Manager, Angela Parquist says.
