Waikato District Council planning staff will be available for a public drop-in session at the Tuakau Memorial Hall on Thursday 23 June, 4-6pm, for Tuakau residents to find out about a proposed Plan Change for the township and how they can have a say about it.
Plan Change 16 involves residential and industrial zoning and planning changes designed to help manage future growth in the township. The Plan Change is needed to get Stage One underway of the Tuakau Structure Plan that was adopted in December 2014 after wide community consultation, and that provides a 30 year planning framework for the future growth of Tuakau.
Waikato District Council General Manager Strategy and Support, Tony Whittaker says Plan Change 16 is expected to be the subject of a formal public submission and hearings process after it goes before the Waikato District Council’s July meeting for approval to publicly notify the Plan Change.
