Bell Crossing Street in Huntly will be closed for at least two days this month so important work on the railway crossing can be undertaken.
Both KiwiRail and the Waikato District Alliance will be working in the area on 12-13 June.
For safety reasons, the street needs to be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians during this time.
While this road is closed, vehicles will be able to use Fletcher Street and/or Rayner Road. Council suggests pedestrians, including mobility scooters, use the Glasgow Street pedestrian foot bridge to access the CBD and the west side of town.
“We are aware Bell Crossing Street is a main access point for people travelling across and around Huntly and we appreciate your tolerance while this important work is being done. We will have the road open again as soon as possible,” General Manager Service Delivery Tim Harty says.
A contingency day has been put in place in case it is needed. This is set down for 14 June. The work is weather dependent and will be carried out during daylight hours but the road will remain closed for the duration of the work. For more information please contact:
