Best-selling author to visit Huntly Library and Te Kauwhata Library

Waikato best-selling author Deborah Challinor will talk about her writing process at Huntly Library and Te Kauwhata Library on Wednesday 25 May.

Deborah Challinor is a writer and historian. She was born in Huntly, attended Waikato University and is again living in the Waikato region.

Her first titles were non-fiction history books. All appeared in the top five of the New Zealand bestseller list, six of them reaching number one. More recently she has written a range of historical fiction, including her Convict Girls series, set in Sydney in the 1830s.

Deborah Challinor will be holding two sessions on Wednesday 25 May: the first session will be held at 11am at Huntly Library and the second session will be held at 2pm at Te Kauwhata Library.

“We are extremely excited to have Deborah Challinor visit our libraries and talk to people about her writing experiences,” Waikato District Council Customer Delivery Manager, Angela Parquist says. “This is a free session with an open invitation to our customers and wider community.”
