Wet weather and high winds over the weekend has delayed the re-installation of Huntly’s footbridge until Sunday 3 May.
A section of the bridge had been removed and stored offsite for repainting and general maintenance and was scheduled to be put back in place yesterday, Monday 27 April.
Council’s Service Delivery General Manager, Tim Harty says “We apologise for the inconvenience to regular users of the footbridge however the safety of our staff, and members of the public, is the top priority. Unfortunately the weekend’s rough weather wasn’t conducive to a safe and smooth installation.”
“Should the weather allow we have rescheduled the work for Sunday 3 May around 7pm. This will require traffic to be detoured off State Highway 1 for a few hours however traffic management will be in place.”
