Drop-in session with MSD and information sharing with Council representatives​

Representatives from the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) will be at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Puaha o Waikato is on Stack Road this Saturday 18 February from 10am – 2pm to offer support and assistance for anyone from the Port Waikato Community impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle.

MSD can offer financial support for impacted residents to help to ease the pressure we know our communities are feeling, including:

  • Help with emergency costs,
  • Help with bedding, food or medical costs,
  • Financial assistance with repairs or replacing appliances, and
  • Help with paying housing costs for temporary accommodation.

Information sharing with Council representatives

Waikato District Council Mayor Jacqui Church and Deputy Carolyn Eyre and a representative from Watercare will also be present at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Puaha o Waikato to meet with residents.
